Draw it or type it, then download a transparent PNG. Free, no sign-up, and nothing leaves your browser: the image is made on your device and never uploaded.
Draw or type your signature first.
The image you download here is a drawing. It is useful, but it proves nothing on its own: anyone who receives it can paste it onto another document, and a PDF with a pasted image carries no record of who placed it there, when, or whether the page was changed afterwards.
What makes an electronic signature hold up under the US ESIGN Act, UETA or the EU eIDAS regulation is the evidence around it: that the signer meant to sign, agreed to sign electronically, can be tied to the signature, and that the signed record has not been altered since. That evidence is what an e-signature service records, not the shape of the ink.
So use the image where a picture is all you need, and send the document for signature when someone else has to sign.
The PNG has a transparent background, so it sits cleanly on any page.
Send the document with MostlySign instead of emailing an image back and forth. This is what the signer and you get.
| Signature image | MostlySign | |
|---|---|---|
| Who signed | Not recorded | The email the invitation went to and was opened from |
| When | Not recorded | Timestamps to the second, plus an RFC 3161 timestamp on the sealed PDF |
| Consent to sign electronically | Not recorded | Recorded in the certificate of completion |
| Changed after signing? | Undetectable | Any edit breaks the PAdES seal in any validator |
| Price | Free | Free for 3 documents a month, no card |
Upload the PDF, place the fields, add the signer's email. They sign by drawing or typing, with no account. Three documents a month are free.
