Yes. Signatures made with MostlySign are legally binding electronic signatures under the US ESIGN Act, UETA, and the EU eIDAS regulation. Every completed document carries a full audit trail and a certificate of completion recording who signed, when, and from where.

How is a signed document verified?

Completed documents are PAdES-sealed with the MostlySign platform certificate and RFC 3161 timestamped. Because the seal is standards-based, a signed PDF can be checked in any compliant reader — Adobe Acrobat Reader, or an independent public validator such as the European Commission’s EU DSS validator — not only on MostlySign. Those tools confirm the document has not changed since it was sealed and show the trusted timestamp. One caveat we state plainly: the seal certificate is issued by Mostly Tiny rather than by a certificate authority on Adobe’s AATL trust list, so a reader flags the issuer as one it does not already know. The seal proves integrity and time, not a third party’s vetting of our identity.

How does MostlySign compare to DocuSign?

MostlySign targets the same job — sending documents for legally binding signature — but is cheaper, free to start, and has no per-envelope caps, where DocuSign’s standard plans cap you at 100 envelopes per user per year and bill overages. DocuSign is an established, deeper platform; MostlySign is the honest, lower-cost alternative whose sealed documents verify at independent validators, not only inside one vendor’s walls.

The Free plan sends 3 documents a month. Paid plans (Pro and Business) send unlimited documents at a flat price — there are no per-envelope caps and no metered overage charges on any plan.

Every document records a timestamped trail — sent, viewed, signed, and sealed — with each signer’s details. When signing finishes, MostlySign generates a certificate of completion and PAdES-seals the final PDF, so the record travels with the document itself.

Do the people I send to need an account?

No. Recipients open a link, review the document, and sign by drawing or typing — no account and no download required. The signer experience is the same clean page you can preview from the sample on our home page.

Can I add multiple signers and a signing order?

Yes. Add several signers, give each their own colour, and set the order in which they sign. Pro adds automatic reminders and expiry, reusable templates, and your logo on the signer page.
